Community Rules

MyanOz exists to connect and serve the Myanmar community in Australia and beyond. These rules apply to all user-generated content on the platform — including business reviews, ratings, listing descriptions, and any future community features.
Our goal is a space that is calm, trustworthy, and welcoming to everyone regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.
1. Respectful Behaviour
Treat every person on this platform with courtesy and dignity. Criticism of businesses should be constructive and factual. Personal attacks on other users, business owners, or public figures are not permitted.
2. No Hate Speech or Discrimination
MyanOz serves a diverse community that includes many ethnic groups — Bamar, Karen, Shan, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Mon, Kayah, and others — as well as people of varied religions and political backgrounds. Content that:
- Incites hatred or violence against any ethnic, religious, or social group,
- Uses slurs or dehumanising language,
- Promotes ethnic or religious supremacy,
will be removed immediately and the account suspended or banned.
3. Honest Business Reviews
Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand experience. You must not:
- Write reviews for businesses you have not personally visited or used.
- Write reviews for your own business, or ask employees, friends, or family to do so.
- Write negative reviews about a competitor’s business to damage their reputation.
- Accept payment or incentives in exchange for a review.
Fraudulent reviews harm the community’s ability to make informed decisions and will be removed.
4. No Spam or Unsolicited Promotion
Reviews and comments are for community benefit, not advertising. Do not:
- Post promotional content or advertisements in reviews.
- Repeatedly post the same content across multiple listings (review spamming).
- Post links to third-party websites, affiliate links, or referral codes.
Businesses wishing to promote their services should use official listing features or contact us about advertising options.
5. Accurate Business Information
If you submit or claim a business listing, the information must be accurate and kept up to date. Do not list businesses that do not exist, use false addresses, or misrepresent services offered.
6. Protect Privacy
Do not post personal information about private individuals (phone numbers, home addresses, photos) without their explicit consent. This includes posting identifying details about business staff members.
7. Reporting Violations
If you see content that violates these rules, please report it using the report button on the relevant listing or review, or email us at legal@myanoz.com. Include a link to the content and a brief description of the issue.
We review all reports and aim to respond within 48 hours.
8. Enforcement
Violations of these rules are handled progressively:
- Warning — content removed and user notified for a first or minor violation.
- Suspension — temporary account suspension (7–30 days) for repeat or more serious violations.
- Permanent ban — immediate permanent ban for severe violations, including hate speech, threats, or coordinated abuse.
MyanOz reserves the right to skip to permanent ban for severe violations without prior warning.
9. Appeals
If you believe your content was removed or your account actioned in error, you may appeal by emailing legal@myanoz.com with the subject line “Community Rules Appeal”. We will review appeals within 7 business days.
10. Changes to These Rules
These rules may be updated as the community grows. Significant changes will be announced on the platform.
