Takedown Request

Last updated: 2026-03-24

How MyanOz Uses News Content

MyanOz aggregates news from third-party publications to serve the Myanmar community in Australia. For each article we:

  • Display a headline, short excerpt or AI-translated summary — not the full article.
  • Attribute the original source and author clearly.
  • Link directly to the original article on the publisher’s website.

We make every effort to operate within fair dealing provisions under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). However, we respect the rights of copyright holders and will promptly remove content upon a valid request.

Who Can Submit a Takedown Request

Takedown requests may be submitted by:

  • The original copyright holder (author, publisher, photographer).
  • An authorised legal representative acting on behalf of the rights holder.

If you are not the rights holder or their authorised representative, we cannot action your request.

What We Can Remove

  • A translated summary or excerpt of a specific article.
  • An image or media asset sourced from your publication.
  • An entire article listing, including the source link.
  • User-generated content (reviews, listings) that infringes your copyright or contains defamatory material about you.

Required Information

To process your request efficiently, please include all of the following in your email:

  1. Your contact details — full name, email address, and (if applicable) organisation and title.
  2. Description of the copyrighted work — a clear description or URL of the original work you own.
  3. URL of infringing content — the specific MyanOz page URL(s) where the content appears.
  4. Basis for the request — a brief explanation of why you believe the content infringes your rights.
  5. Good faith statement — a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. Accuracy statement — a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
  7. Signature — your electronic or physical signature.
